Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen has the most pressure on him from the team coming into the NFL season.

The Buffalo Bills may be the team with the most pressure on them coming into the new 2026 NFL season.

The Bills decided to let go of longtime head coach Sean McDermott, bringing in a new voice to lead the team. Buffalo promoted coordinator Joe Brady to become the new head coach, giving renewed energy to this franchise.

Brady now gets the chance to be the person to lead Buffalo to the promised land, but his first-year as a head coach will come with heavy expectations. If the Bills were to falter in year one under Brady, there would be all sorts of narratives to come out around him.

But the Bills do have a strong roster, with many seeing them as the favorites to come out of the AFC this year. However, games aren't won on paper, and the Bills are going to have to prove themselves out on the field.

With Josh Allen under center, Buffalo has a chance to win every game. But Allen also has plenty to prove entering this massive year for the franchise.

NFL analyst Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report has listed Allen as the player on the Bills who is under the most pressure entering the season. 2026 is a make-or-break year for Buffalo, with the organization having very high expectations.

"The league's most valuable player since 2020 based on Pro Football Reference's AV metric is on a Hall of Fame track but has failed to get the Bills to the Super Bowl despite seven playoff appearances in a row. Now 30, Allen is facing considerable pressure to take that next step with this veteran team," Gagnon wrote.

If this year's Bills can't get over the hump, it could become increasingly difficult for them down the line. The AFC is only getting tougher each year, and with Allen getting older, 2026 is the year for them to make it happen.

Additionally, with Brady now in charge, there is no more excuse about McDermott holding the team back. Allen is going to need to step up for the team more this year as a leader with a new head coach, giving him even more responsibility on his shoulders.

Allen has shown to be ready for any challenge ahead of him over his career. The signal-caller has won the MVP award in his career, but he just hasn't been able to get to the Super Bowl

2026 will be very telling for this Bills team, and if they can get over the hump, it will be a very long time coming. But if they fall short again, even larger questions are going to arise in the aftermath.
