The Bills could take full advantage here, adding a veteran cornerback to help bolsyer the chance to win this season. While Samuel has seen some injuries over the last few years, he was extremely productive early in his career.
Before 2025, Samuel had recorded at least two interceptions and 43-plus tackles each year of his career while with the Los Angeles Chargers. But injuries have robbed him over the last few seasons, limiting his production.
Samuel has only appeared in 10 games over the past two seasons, but he is ready to make an impact this year. Last season with Pittsburgh, Samuel had one interception, 10 total tackles, and one pass deflection, playing in six games.
Given that the veteran cornerback is on a one-year deal with the Steelers, Pittsburgh could look to move him around the trade deadline, if not earlier. The Steelers have multiple players in this secondary already, so this team could afford to part with Samuel.
The Bills may be better off trying to add Samuel before the season starts, lowering the potential cost. If he were to play well with Pittsburgh early on, the Steelers may elect to keep him around, or place a premium price tag on his services
Buffalo may prefer to see how he performs first, while allowing their own guys to step up during the season. But with this being a Super Bowl or bust season, the click is ticking on the Bills, and having enough depth can make all the difference.
