The 2025 NFL season has officially arrived and the Buffalo Bills are set to kick off the year on Sunday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens. Josh Allen is coming off of a 2024 season that saw him win the MVP award and he's looking to build off of that success.
While the MVP award is a great honor, it's far from what Allen wants the most. He wants to win a Super Bowl.
Over the last few years, the Bills have been one of the best teams in the NFL. However, they have been unable to take the final step. Last season, they came up just one win short of the Super Bowl before losing to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
Despite the frustration over the last few years, Buffalo is a top-tier contender again. Perhaps this is the season where the Bills can finally get into the big game and win it all.
In addition to pursuing a Super Bowl, Allen can leap into the NFL history books this year.
As shared by Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, the Buffalo superstar quarterback has a chance to do something that no other quarterback has ever done in league history.
"Bills QB Josh Allen can become the first QB ever — and just the 4th player — with at least 6 rushing TDs in each of his first 8 seasons," Meirov wrote on X. "The others: Jim Brown, Marshall Faulk, LaDainian Tomlinson."
To this point in his career, Allen has played in seven seasons with the Bills. He has thrown for 26,434 yards, 195 touchdowns, and 84 interceptions, while completing 63.3 percent of his passes. On the ground, he has carved up defenses to the tune of 4,142 yards and 65 touchdowns.
On the outside looking in, rushing for six touchdowns should not be a problem for Allen. That seems like a very low number that he could very well surpass in the first half of the 2025 season.
Recently, Allen spoke out about the upcoming season. He also spoke out strongly about his Super Bowl aspirations for Buffalo.
"I can see the parade. I can feel it," he said. "Five degrees, brisk, rolling down, hearing the bus roll over all the salt and the ice. Thousands upon thousands of fans, filling up downtown Buffalo. I see it all."
Allen's goal is clear. He wants this season to be the year that happens. Along the way, he might just etch his name into the NFL history books once again.
