Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen ignited the arena, banging the drum and chugging a beer, electrifying fans before the Sabres' playoff game against the Boston Bruins.
Buffalo loves Josh Allen, and Josh Allen loves Buffalo. Ahead of Game 2 of the Buffalo Sabres' Stanley Cup Playoffs series against the Boston Bruins, the Buffalo Bills QB was in attendance to get the crowd hyped for the game.
To say he achieved that would be an understatement.
After kind of teasing his appearance on Monday, Allen kicked things off by banging the ceremonial drum before the opening faceoff. But he didn't just bang the drum and leave.
Allen sent the arena into a frenzy after banging the drum by pulling out a beer and chugging it for the crowd. It was exactly what the fans wanted and needed to see from their star quarterback.
"Josh Allen with the greatest drum of all time!" the Sabres posted on social media.
Bills Continue To Show Their Sabres Pride
Allen's appearance at Tuesday's game isn't the only time the Bills have shown their support for the other Terry Pegula-owned team. In Game 1 on Sunday, several Bills players showed up to watch the game, including Alec Anderson, Khalil Shakir, and Conor McGovern. They even took a ride on the Zamboni during intermission.
Even during media day on Monday at One Bills Drive, Allen, Brandon Beane, and others got behind the Sabres on the team's quest for the Stanley Cup.
The Sabres, much like the Bills did nine years ago, ended the longest active playoff drought in North American sports this season. Before this year, the Sabres hadn't made the postseason since 2011.
While long, it was still short of the Buffalo Bills' 17-year drought from 2000 to 2017. And with the hockey team in the playoffs, the longest active playoff drought in North American sports now belongs to the New York Jets at 15 seasons.
