The Buffalo Bills have received a blunt message from a veteran receiver about wanting to sign with the team.
Over the last few weeks, there has been a lot of speculation about the Buffalo Bills potentially signing another wide receiver for superstar quarterback Josh Allen.
To this point, Brandon Beane and the front office have remained quiet. Whether or not they have interest in signing another offensive weapon remains a mystery.
Early on during the 2026 NFL offseason, the Bills made an aggressive move to land Allen a new No. 1 target. They acquired star wideout D.J. Moore in a trade with the Chicago Bears. However, they could still use a bit more firepower.
Currently, the wide receiver room in Buffalo includes Moore, Khalil Shakir, Joshua Palmer, Keon Coleman, and Skyler Bell. Adding another veteran target could make a lot of sense for the Bills.
With that being said, one former 1,000-yard veteran wide receiver has made his interest in signing with Buffalo clear.
Brandin Cooks spent a short period of time with the Bills last season. He played in five regular season games for Buffalo, catching five passes for 114 yards. In the playoffs, he caught five passes for 78 yards in two games.
In a recent interview with The Athletic, Cooks made it clear that he wants to re-sign with the Bills.
“Obviously, Buffalo is the place I’d love to be,” Cooks said. “I want to prove that to them and have a full offseason with them. Both sides are figuring things out. We’ll see, but hopefully something transpires because I love going to training camp. That’s where you build that callus.”
Cooks also made his opinion of Allen very clear.
“I chose Buffalo because of the belief in Josh Allen,” Cooks said. “From afar, you heard the things going on inside the receiver room. In my mind, ‘OK, this was an opportunity where you got guys that can play, but also there’s a niche in there where, if I can come in and do what I have to do, I’m contributing.’ It was the totality of things, but who wouldn’t want to play with Josh Allen?”
Since being drafted by the New Orleans Saints with the No. 20 overall pick in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Cooks has carved out a nice career for himself.
He has played for six different teams across his 12 seasons. In the 173 total games he has played, Cooks has caught 734 passes for 9,811 yards and 60 touchdowns.
It will be interesting to see if the Bills have interest in bringing Cooks back. For now, the wide receiver is holding out hope that he'll be able to return to Buffalo in 2026.
