The chances of a potential reunion between the Buffalo Bills and Stefon Diggs have taken another hit.
Over the last few weeks, there have been a lot of questions about whether or not the Buffalo Bills could consider a reunion with former star wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
Diggs was released by the New England Patriots earlier this offseason. So far, no team has swooped in to sign him. He remains a free agent as training camp draws closer.
More than likely, Diggs will be signed at some point in the near future. He is coming off of a productive season with the Patriots where he helped lead the team to the Super Bowl. Diggs is still more than capable of being a high-impact player for a contender.
Throughout the course of the 2025 NFL season, Diggs caught 85 passes for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns. He produced those numbers in his return from the ACL tear that he suffered while playing for the Houston Texans in 2024.
With that being said, CBS Sports has taken a look at the most likely fits for Diggs before the 2026 season arrives.
For those hoping to see the Bills reunite with Diggs, the list won't be ideal. Buffalo was not included among the five teams mentioned.
Those teams were the Baltimore Ravens, Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Denver Broncos.
At the end of the day, the Bills don't "need" to sign another wide receiver. They already went out and acquired D.J. Moore in a trade with the Chicago Bears. Buffalo also has Khalil Shakir, Joshua Palmer, Keon Coleman, and Skyler Bell on the roster.
Each of those wide receivers is more than capable of playing a key role for Josh Allen in 2026.
While the Bills may not be a top contender to sign Diggs, they can't be entirely counted out. Buffalo is all-in on contending for a Super Bowl. Diggs could help them towards that goal.
Only time will tell, but the idea of Diggs returning to the Bills seems a bit far-fetched at this point in time. That could change at any moment, but there are a handful of teams who could use him more than Buffalo.
It's still an option worth keeping an eye on as the offseason comes to a close.
