It seems as though Vegas is back in on the Buffalo Bills after a dominating win over Pittsburgh on Sunday evening. Here's where things stand in the AFC playoff race after Week 13.
The Buffalo Bills head into Week 14 with an 8-4 record and currently hold the 7th seed in the AFC playoff race.
And while they are tied with both Indianapolis and Los Angeles in record, they find themselves behind them due to the conference win percentage tiebreaker. But even though they're in 7th, Buffalo still has some of the best odds to not only make the playoffs but get all the way to the Super Bowl.
After Week 13's action, the Bills have a 91% chance of making the playoffs. That's up from the 83% chance they had after losing to Houston. The 91% chance is actually third highest in the conference as of publishing. The only two teams higher are the 11-2 New England Patriots and 10-2 Denver Broncos, both of whom are at 99%. Looking at teams with similar records as Buffalo---Jacksonville, Indianapolis, and Los Angeles---, only the Jaguars have anything above a 68% chance.
Moving to the AFC East race, and Buffalo's chances remain slim at just 8%. With just five games to go, the Bills would likely need to win out or, at the very least, go 4-1 with the only loss coming to Philadelphia. The reality is, however, that it probably wouldn't be enough as the Patriots need to lose three of their last four games, including the rematch against Buffalo, for the Bills to win a sixth-straight division title.
But despite the likelihood of needing to go on the road throughout the playoffs, the Bills still have some of the best betting odds to make it to Super Bowl 60. On average, Buffalo has the best odds in the AFC, ranging from +800 to +1050. New England is slightly behind them with odds hovering between +1000 and +1100.
Even with the odds in their favor right now, Buffalo can't afford to slip up. They have a tough schedule down the stretch and are only a game up on the 7-5 Houston Texans. With Houston holding the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Bills, they are going to have to play their best football from here on out.
