Buffalo Bills WR D.J. Moore played very well in Week 1 against the Houston Texans.
The Buffalo Bills made a blockbuster trade in the offseason, acquiring veteran WR D.J. Moore from the Chicago Bears.
And the trade is already paying dividends.
In the Bills' Week 1 win against the Houston Texans, Moore caught five passes for 100 yards and one touchdown.
"Moore's five catches for 100 yards were somewhat aided when Houston safety Reed Blankenship went for an interception and missed badly, giving Moore an easy path to a 43-yard touchdown. However, Moore also did a lot of things that didn't end up in his standard receiving totals. He drew a 46-yard pass interference penalty and later an illegal contact flag. He also slapped away what appeared to be a very likely interception for Houston safety Calen Bullock. It was everything the Bills could have asked for when they traded for Moore in March," Aaron Schatz of ESPN wrote.
For the Bears last season, Moore had 50 catches for 682 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns. He played in all 17 games, proving once again that he's one of the most reliable players in the NFL
Moore played for Joe Brady when the two were on the Carolina Panthers. Josh Allen and Moore were also in the same draft class back in 2018, so the two stars already have a relationship.
Getting traded to a new team is tough, but at least Moore has a rapport with Allen and Brady already.
"We were in the same draft class," Allen said about Moore in the offseason. "We spent a little bit of time together actually at the rookie premiere way back in the day. He's a team-first guy. He's obviously very, very talented."
With Allen and Moore leading the offense, the Bills are once again Super Bowl contenders. Buffalo has yet to reach the Super Bowl in the Allen era, but that could change this season with Moore in the fold.
The Bills have reached the AFC Championship Game twice in the Allen era. Buffalo lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs both times.
Allen and Co. face the Detroit Lions in Week 2.
That figures to be a very high-scoring game between Allen and Jared Goff.
The Bills scored 36 points in Week 1, while the Lions put up 31 against the New Orleans Saints.
