The Buffalo Bills are going to be one of the most interesting teams to watch entering the 2026 NFL offseason.
Over the last few years, the Bills have been close to winning a Super Bowl. Unfortunately, they have been unable to get the job done come playoff time.
Led by Josh Allen, the Super Bowl window is wide open. However, it's also clear that Buffalo has work to do if it wants to take advantage of the open window.
Heading into this offseason, the Bills have no choice but to get aggressive. After moving on from head coach Sean McDermott, the time is now to go all-in on contention. One clear need for Buffalo will be finding a go-to weapon for Allen.
That has been a need for at least the last two years. Brandon Beane has been unable to bring in a top-tier wide receiver during that time frame.
With that being said, one option has been suggested on multiple occasions as a potential target for the Bills. George Pickens of the Dallas Cowboys is that option.
Pickens, who is set to become a free agent this offseason, could simply end up being franchise tagged by the Cowboys. He could also re-sign a long-term contract with Dallas. Or, a trade has been suggested as a possible offseason outcome as well.
Keeping that in mind, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report has suggested Buffalo once again as a potential trade destination for Pickens if he is made available.
"There's the matter of trade compensation, too," Knox wrote. "Would the Cowboys really take a second-round pick for a Pro Bowl receiver just entering his prime? Maybe not, but one could easily argue that trading a first-round selection for Pickens would benefit the Bills more than adding an unproven rookie receiver with the 26th overall pick."
Adding Pickens would bring in a clear-cut No. 1 option for Allen. He is coming off of a season in Dallas where he played in 17 games and caught 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns.
Those numbers would take the Bills a big step closer to Super Bowl contention. He may not be placed on the trade block, but if the Cowboys are open to the idea Buffalo should pursue him aggressively.
