With the Buffalo Bills still filling out their roster before training camp gets underway in July, general manager Brandon Beane said that they could bring back a veteran presence to the team.
Buffalo Bills fans could see a familiar face return in 2026, as Tre'Davious White remains a possibility to rejoin the team.
Speaking ahead of voluntary minicamp and the NFL Draft this week, Bills general manager Brandon Beane made it clear that the door is not closed on a reunion. However, any potential move will have to wait until after the NFL Draft.
"Yeah, I mean, we love Tre’Davious," Beane said. “I think at this point, you know, we’re waiting through the draft, and probably he is as well.
"You would never close the door on bringing a guy like Tre back here to Buffalo."
It is not a surprising stance from Buffalo’s front office.
Drafted in the first round in 2017, White was once a cornerstone of the Bills’ defense and one of the top cornerbacks in the league during his prime. Injuries over the past few seasons changed that trajectory, ultimately leading to his departure, but the connection between player and organization remained strong enough that he returned last season.
Now, with the 2026 NFL Draft approaching, Buffalo appears focused on evaluating its current roster and potential additions there before making any decisions on veteran reinforcements.
White’s 2025 season showed he can still contribute. He recorded 46 tackles and one interception across 18 appearances, offering experience and depth in the secondary. While those numbers do not match his peak production, they do show he could still play a depth role.
The Bills struggled at times defensively in 2025, particularly in high-scoring games where they were unable to get key stops. But their passing defense did finish at the top of the league. White was a big part of that due to injuries to 2025 first-round pick Maxwell Hairston.
Looking at this year's draft, Buffalo has shown interest in cornerbacks during this draft cycle. During the pre-draft process, the team had visits or workouts with Arkansas' Julien Neal and Texas' Malik Muhammad.
It's clear that the Bills would like to add depth to a key position, but it will all depend on how the draft board falls to see if they address it this weekend. If the team doesn't take a corner during the draft, a reunion could become more likely as training camp approaches.
