The Buffalo Bills have released a new look at the biggest new addition coming to the new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park when it opens for the 2026 NFL Season

The Buffalo Bills have finally peeled back the curtain on the biggest new addition coming to the new Highmark Stadium.

On Tuesday, the team gave its first official look at the large Bison statues set to stand outside the building. These statues will be constructed in the Family Circle area outside Higmark Stadium. They'll be built with a steel interior and a stainless-steel outer layer.

"[T]hese striking sculptures will serve as a powerful visual representation of the strength and resilience of the Buffalo community, embodying the spirit that defines both the team and the city," the team said.

According to the team's senior vice president of design, Frank Cravotta, the design and development of the Bison has been a project "several years" in the making.

"Right from the start, we wanted to place American Bisons in front of our stadium," he said. "It's taken a lot of hard work and coordination; we're thrilled with the result."

In total, there will be three Bison standing in the Family Circle—a bull, cow, and calf. And they will be large.

The bull will weigh 23,000 pounds, and stand the largest at 27 feet tall and 29 feet in length. The cow will be 22 feet tall and 23 feet long, while the calf will sit 12 feet tall and 13 feet long.

In addition to being made out of steel, the bison will have custom lighting and, in the case of the bull and cow, emit smoke from their nostrils.

"I didn't expect just how complex the engineering and fabrication would be for these statues," Cravotta said. "The sculptures are very large and one-of-a-kind."

Handling the construction of the Bison is Blessing Hancock and ART Research Enterprises in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Cravotta says that Hancock has a "real talent for telling community stories", making her the perfect choice for what the team is trying to convey.

The new bison statues will be completed and installed, along with the rest of the stadium, in time for the start of the 2026 NFL Season.
