Buffalo Bills 2026 Practice Squad Announced

The 53-man rosters have been set, and the practice squads are coming into focus. On Monday afternoon, the Buffalo Bills announced their initial practice squad for the 2026 season. 

The announcement came via the Bills social media.

The first player reported to be signed, and then confirmed, was safety Geno Stone. But Stone wasn't the only player Buffalo released on Sunday to be brought back to the team.

Also signed to the practice squad were CB Kani Walker, LB Keonta Jenkins, and WR Ja'Mori Maclin, among others. One player that many expected to return, Toriano Pride Jr., was claimed by the Browns and now heads to Cleveland.

The Bills can carry 16 players on the practice squad, 17 if you have an International Pathway Program player. For Buffalo, that's defensive lineman Travis Clayton. As far as veteran additions are concerned, teams can have up to six. The Bills start the year with four in the form of Stone, LB Shaq Thompson, WR Trent Sherfield, and WR Greg Dortch. 

A reminder: as part of league rules, up to two practice squad players can be elevated to the game-day roster each week without a team having to cut someone from the 53-man squad. Each player can be elevated a maximum of three times per season before they have to be signed to the active roster for the regular season. Come playoffs, practice squad players have unlimited elevations.
