A former college teammate of Josh Allen has been linked to the Bills in the past, and could be a potential depth signing this offseason.

When the Buffalo Bills make additions to the roster for the 2026 season, one position many expect them to look at in one way or form is linebacker.

In 2025, the position was hampered by injuries and inconsistent play. Now, with two players—Matt Milano and Shaq Thompson—heading to free agency, there's a need to find someone to play alongside Terrell Bernard and behind, should injuries occur.

One player who could be part of that depth is Logan Wilson.

Wilson was waived by the Dallas Cowboys last Friday to free up $6.5 million on the team's salary cap.  His time with the Cowboys ended after he was acquired at the 2025 NFL Trade Deadline from Cincinnati, playing in seven games for Dallas.

At the time he was traded by the Bengals for a 2026th seventh-round pick, ESPN's Adam Schefter said that the Bills were one of three teams interested in Wilson.

It's not known how serious the interest was or even if General Manager Brandon Beane even made an offer. Still, knowing there was interest in November could lead to a belief that a signing can happen.

There's also a personal connection within the Bills. From 2015-2017, Wilson was a teammate of quarterback Josh Allen at the University of Wyoming.

A third-round pick of the Bengals in 2020, Wilson played in 12 games as a rookie. By 2021, he became a starter on defense and was a big part of their Super Bowl run that season.

After seeing his role reduced this past season, Wilson requested a trade out of Cincinnati.

In his five-and-a-half seasons with the Bengals, Wilson had 565 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 26 passes defended, 11 interceptions, and seven forced fumbles.

Should he be signed, it's more than likely he would be a depth signing at this stage. Though if recent years have taught us anything, it can become a starting position in short order.
