Buffalo Bills head coach Josh Allen has an agreement in place with QB Josh Allen.
The day the Buffalo Bills named Joe Brady their new head coach, QB Josh Allen went into his office and the two talked about holding each other accountable next season.
The "holding each other accountable" part is the agreement Brady and Allen have.
"We both made agreements on the accountability that we're going to hold each other to, what our expectations are for one another," Brady said at the NFL meeting in Phoenix. "We're in this together, and we got to hold each other accountable.
"There's going to be issues that are going to come up. You're going to see me on the sideline pissed at him. You're going to see him on the sideline like what the heck are we doing. That's football, that's human nature. But we've got to always be able to go back to the beginning when there was no emotion in it … as long as we hold that rope and that vision, we're going to be good."
Allen had right foot surgery after the 2025 season ended. The surgery was done on a broken bone in his foot.
The 2024 MVP, Allen finished with 3,668 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 579 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns last season. The future Hall of Famer enters next season with 30,102 passing yards, 220 passing touchdowns, 4,721 rushing yards and 79 career rushing touchdowns.
Allen is one of the top players in the NFL, but he has yet to guide the Bills to the Super Bowl.
"I've said this 100 times, and you're gonna hear me another 100 times saying it. I want Josh Allen to get everything he deserves in this life, in this career. He puts so much into this game, and that all I want is for him to be holding what he deserves," Brady said.
The Bills made a blockbuster trade this offseason, acquiring WR D.J. Moore from the Chicago Bears. Moore has played for the Carolina Panthers and Bears. He enters next season with 608 receptions, 8,213 receiving yards and 41 receiving touchdowns in the NFL.
It will be fascinating to see how far the Bills go next season in Year 1 of the Brady era. Buffalo lost to the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round last season.
