The Buffalo Bills have been connected to a $120 million star, but it probably would not be the best idea.

Once again, the Buffalo Bills watched their season end in heartbreak, as they fell to the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

The Bills fired head coach Sean McDermott after the defeat, and now, they'll have to figure out the best course of action moving forward.

One thing Buffalo definitely needs to do is supply some more weapons for quarterback Josh Allen, who has not had a true No. 1 receiver at his disposal ever since the Bills traded Stefon Diggs two years ago.

Buffalo will surely be in the market for pass-catchers this offseason, and Bleacher Report's Moe Moton has pitched an intriguing potential candidate for the team: San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

"Averaging 14.6 yards per reception, Aiyuk would be a significant upgrade over [Khalil] Shakir as a big-play receiver and pose more of a scoring threat," Moton wrote. "The 49ers' soon-to-be ex-receiver has 25 career touchdown receptions. Shakir has 11."

Aiyuk signed a four-year, $120 million extension with the 49ers ahead of 2024, but suffered a torn ACL that same October. He then missed all of 2025, refusing to properly communicate with San Francisco along the way.

As a result, the Niners seem destined to cut the 27-year-old, who posted back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns in 2022 and 2023. That included racking up 1,342 yards on 75 receptions during the latter season.

There is no question that Aiyuk is a terrific player when healthy, but would the Bills really want to add someone who caused such a major disturbance in what was a good situation with the 49ers? Not only that, but he hasn't played a full season since 2023.

It wouldn't hurt San Francisco to add Aiyuk on a cheap deal, but the former first-round pick will likely land a substantial offer from somebody.

Buffalo really can't afford to be too picky when it comes to receiver talent, but Aiyuk is a different case. He wanted to get paid, and the Niners paid him. He also had a great chance to win in the Bay. So what exactly was the issue?

The Bills would be better served looking at someone like Mike Evans or maybe even pursuing a trade for another wide out. They should stay away from Aiyuk unless it's on a ridiculously team-friendly contract.
