The biggest takeaway from the Buffalo Bills' Madden NFL 27 ratings isn't much of a surprise: Josh Allen remains one of the best players in football.
Allen received a 99 overall rating from EA Sports, making him one of just four players in the game to earn the distinction. He also enters Madden NFL 27 as the highest-rated quarterback, leading a Bills roster that received an 88 overall team rating.
From there, the ratings drop quickly. James Cook is Buffalo's only other player above a 90 overall, checking in at 93 and ranking as the sixth-highest-rated running back in the game.
The Bills have just two players rated 90 or better, but they still boast plenty of talent throughout the roster. Left tackle Dion Dawkins and defensive end Gregory Rousseau are tied as Buffalo's next-highest-rated players at 88 overall, while offseason addition D.J. Moore comes in at 85 overall alongside right tackle Spencer Brown.
Several of Buffalo's young core players also received strong ratings. Christian Benford and Terrel Bernard each earned an 83 overall, while Ed Oliver and Khalil Shakir both landed at 82. Tight end Dalton Kincaid enters the season at 81 overall, tied with center Connor McGovern.
One notable omission from the ratings release is Buffalo's rookie class. EA Sports has not yet revealed rookie ratings for Madden NFL 27, meaning players such as T.J. Parker, Davison Igbinosun, Skyler Bell, and the rest of the Bills' draft picks are not yet officially included in the game's roster ratings.
With Allen once again among the NFL's elite and Cook earning recognition as one of the league's top running backs, Buffalo enters Madden NFL 27 as one of the game's highest-rated teams.
