Buffalo Bills' quarterback Josh Allen gave an emotional response to the team's AFC Divisional Round loss to the Denver Broncos on Saturday night.

The Buffalo Bills were unable to overcome the Denver Broncos’ stout defense in the AFC Divisional Round matchup on Saturday night, 33-30.

While fans were upset about the heartbreaking loss, nobody took the game harder than Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who was emotional during the postgame press conference. When discussing the loss, Allen told reporters that he “let his teammates down.”

"I let my teammates down tonight...” Allen stated with tears in his eyes. “It's been a long season. Hate how it ended. It's gonna stick with me for a long time.”

Allen had a rollercoaster of a game on Saturday night, as he completed 25 of his 29 pass attempts for 283 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. In addition to his two turnovers through the air, the star quarterback also fumbled twice in key moments of the contest.

With 16 seconds left in the first half, Allen tried to lead the offense into field goal range to cut the lead to four before half, but would unfortunately record his first fumble when trying to scramble. This would put the Broncos in a prime spot to kick a field goal, making it 20-10 heading into the third quarter.

The second half and overtime play were not friendly to Allen, as he would fumble yet again on the first drive of the third quarter.

To make matters worse, the 29-year-old was unable to capitalize on his defense’s stop in overtime. With a chance to ice the game, Allen threw a deep ball to wide receiver Brandin Cooks, which was ripped out of his hands while he was falling to the ground, resulting in Allen’s second interception of the contest.

Allen would continue to take the blame for the loss, claiming that the team did not “deserve to win football games” with five turnovers.

“Yeah, [you] can't win with five turnovers,” Allen said. “I fumbled twice, threw two picks. When you [make mistakes] like that, you don’t deserve to win football games."

The disappointing loss on Saturday evening was a dagger to the hearts of the entire Bills fanbase, as many believed this could be the year Allen and his squad could finally win a Super Bowl.

Without Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in his way, Allen had a clear path to finally overcoming the hump, but was unable to take advantage of the opportunity.

Now, general manager Brandon Beane must decide whether or not to keep head coach Sean McDermott after seven-straight playoff exits.
