The Buffalo Bills are returning to Orchard Park for the start of their offseason workout programs as they prepare for the 2026 NFL season.
Football is back. Well, sort of.
The Buffalo Bills will return to Orchard Park this week to start their offseason workout activities.
Starting April 7, the Bills will be holding meetings with players while also going through strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation programs.
The reason the Bills can start the activities on April 7 is that they are one of ten teams that hire a new head coach. Sean McDermott is out, and Joe Brady is the man in charge, meaning Buffalo has a bit more work to do to get things moving along on the field.
There will be nothing in the way of on-field practice per the collective bargaining agreement. The first time the team will return to the field will be from April 20-22. Buffalo will hold a voluntary minicamp for players that can include things like 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.
While not confirmed, it's expected that new players like DJ Moore and Bradley Chubb will be around for the minicamps as they look to get acclimated with their new team.
Josh Allen, who just celebrated the birth of his daughter and is rehabbing a foot injury, could be in town, but likely won't take part in any on-field drills in that first minicamp.
After the voluntary minicamp wraps, the next time you see the Bills will be for the rookie minicamp in early May. Then, starting May 18, organized team activities, or OTAs, begin. Those are scheduled to take place on May 18-19, May 21, May 26-28, and June 1-4.
Lastly, the final step before training camp is the mandatory minicamp from June 9-11.
With a new head coach in Brady and a new defensive scheme with Jim Leonhard, the Bills are going to need to take advantage of as much on-field work as they can get.
Brady's vision is going to be fully implemented now that he is calling the shots. What's going to be interesting is just how much that differs from what the Bills have done and the fans have seen in the last two-plus seasons with him at offensive coordinator.
Bills Roundtable also offers a fan community and message board. We’d love to have you join us to talk all things Bills. Click the “Join” button at the top of the page to join our community for free.
