Buffalo Bills snag Ohio State corner Davison Igbinosun after a second-round trade. Will his length and zone skills overcome penalty concerns?
The Buffalo Bills have addressed a slight need at cornerback, drafting Ohio State's Davison Igbinosun in the 2nd round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Igbinosun was the second 2nd-round pick of the Bills on the night after the team selected edge rusher TJ Parker with the 35th overall pick. To get to him, the Bills traded picks No. 66 and 182 (6th) to the Denver Broncos.
The former Buckeye is coming off a season with 53 tackles, eight pass breakups, and two interceptions. For his career, he has 194 total tackles, four interceptions, and 27 passes defended.
He ended his college career 11th all-time at Ohio State with 22 pass breakups.
As far as the player fans can expect, Igbinosun has great length and recovery ability. He might not be the quickest corner, but he has good enough straight-line speed to catch up if beaten on the line.
One big concern is his history of being grabby, leading to penalties. He cleaned it up last season, going from 12 penalties in 2024 to 4 in 2025. If he can keep it under control, his zone coverage skills will be a benefit to the Bills.
Igbinosun now joins a corner room that includes Christian Benford, Dee Alford, and Maxwell Hairston. What his role will be as a rookie will be a question that Joe Brady and Jim Leonhard will have to figure out before the season starts.
By moving up into the end of the second round, the Bills seemed to have finished their night earlier than expected. That is, of course, they decide to package some of their fourth and fifth-round picks to move back into the third round to address other needs.
