As the Buffalo Bills returned to practice on Wednesday, the team gave a full update on a number of injured players along with a few surprise additions to the list.

Christian Benford is moving closer to returning for the Buffalo Bills.

On Wednesday, the team's top cornerback (CB) returned to practice after missing last Friday's practice and the weekend's game against New England with a toe injury. The injury was sustained during practice last week, but there wasn't a belief that he would be out long term.

That appears to still be the case as McDermott gave his view on where thing's stand with Benford.

"We'll see today," McDermott said prior to the team's practice. "[It's] moving in a good direction. I'll know a little bit more today and then certainly tomorrow."

After the practice, Benford was officially listed as a limited participant to start the week. It should also be mentioned that the team held a walk-through practice on Wednesday with the first full practice to come on Thursday.

Other Bills Injury Updates

While Benford might be the biggest name on the Bills injury report, there are other players dealing with various ailments that the team provided updates on.

First, there were four players that didn't participate in Wednesday's walk-through at all. Defensive tackle (DT) Jordan Phillips (Ankle) and kicker Matt Prater (quad) both were declared out of practice before it began, and neither will play this weekend against Cleveland.

However, despite McDermott saying that everyone else would participate today, two other players were listed as DNP. Tight end Dalton Kincaid was kept out of practice with a knee injury while left tackle Dion Dawkins missed due to an illness.

As far as who was limited, linebacker Terrel Bernard (elbow) and receiver Mecole Hardmen (calf) joined Benford. Hardman's status comes as the team opened his 21-day return from IR window on Wednesday morning.

Lastly, two players on the injury report, CB Taron Johnson (quad) and DT DaQuan Jones (calf) were full participants.

While early signs are positive of most players being on the field come Sunday afternoon, the real test begins Thursday and Friday as Buffalo prepares for the Browns.
