Is this too high or too low?
FOX Sports' Colin Cowherd ranked Josh Allen and Joe Brady of the Buffalo Bills the ninth-best QB-coach combo in the NFL.
The Bills fired Sean McDermott in January and promoted Brady to head coach.
Brady and Allen have a very close relationship.
"Now I don't know if Joe Brady's going to be a great head coach," Cowherd said. "I do know that when they've worked together as quarterback and coordinator, they average 29 points a game, and Josh Allen on an annual basis, six straight seasons with 35 touchdowns. So I would put them lower than many would. We just don't know if the coordinator becomes a great coach, but we know the offense will be productive."
The 2024 MVP, Allen finished with 3,668 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 579 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns last season. However, the Bills lost to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round.
A future Hall of Famer, Allen enters this season with 30,102 passing yards, 220 passing touchdowns, 4,721 rushing yards and 79 career rushing touchdowns.
It will be fascinating to see if Allen and the Bills can reach the promised land this season. Time is running out for Allen to win a championship.
After all, he's not getting any younger.
The Bills open the 2026 season against the Houston Texans to kick off the Brady era.
"Still respecting the past and what's been here the last 10 years and not shying away from that, but also having his own twist on it," Allen said after Brady was named HC. "It's been really good to see him embrace the role and step into it. The way that he talks to the guys, you can tell he's very well respected with everybody in that locker room, and it's only going to continue to grow in my opinion."
Allen is deeply revered in NFL circles. He was ranked the No. 1 QB in arm strength, decision-making and second-reaction ability by ESPN's Dan Orlovsky, a former NFL QB.
Allen was also No. 7 in ball placement, No. 9 in mechanics and No. 2 in rushing ability by Orlovsky.
Will Brady be the guy who helps Allen win a Super Bowl? We'll find out soon.
