DeAndre Hopkins Thinks He And Josh Allen Would "Do Some Damage" cover image

Former All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins believes he still has enough left in him to be a productive player if he were to join the Buffalo Bills.

DeAndre Hopkins might have his eyes set on joining the Buffalo Bills

During a recent appearance on Up & Adams with Kay Adams, the former All-Pro receiver spoke about his playing future and what he might look to do. At one point of the conversation, Adams asked Hopkins what he felt he could do in Buffalo.

After taking a second to think, Hopkins said that he and Allen could "do some damage" if they teamed up.

"Me and Josh Allen could do some damage, for sure," Hopkins said.

When Adams asked if Hopkins would be a "Buffalo guy", the 33-year-old said that it's about the game, not necessarily the location.

“I’m a football guy now, and Buffalo is a football team, and Josh Allen is a football player," he said. "He’s a player’s player as we say."

Hopkins continued to say that he believes he's "quarterback proof" while referring to putting up seven touchdowns and 1000 yards with Will Levis as his quarterback in Tenessee.

"Give me a Josh Allen, and who knows," Hopkins said.

A first round pick of the Houston Texans in 2013, Hopkins was once viewed as the best wide receiver in football. He's a three-time first team All-Pro and twice being named to the second team.  In 13 seasons, Hopkins has over 13,000 yards and 85 touchdowns, including four seasons of over 1350 yards.

Since 2023, Hopkins has bounced around from team to team. From 2023 to mid-2024, Hopkins was with the Tennessee Titans before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs. After finishing the year there, he signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens where he had just 330 yards and two touchdowns.

In the last two seasons combined, Hopkins had just 940 yards and seven touchdowns.

So, while it's unlikely that Hopkins, at this stage of his career, could come into Buffalo and be their clear and away number one receiver, it might be a move worth taking a chance on. The Bills head into 2026 with more questions than answers at the wide receiver position, and a veteran like Hopkins could be what's needed for a young player like Keon Coleman and whomever else they chose to bring in next season.
