Leaked images of a rumored "Nickel City" alternate uniform are polarizing Bills Mafia, teasing a glossy gray design and silver pants ahead of Monday's official reveal.
Fans are three days away from getting their first official look at the new alternate uniform for the Buffalo Bills. But despite it only being 72 hours away, that hasn't stopped another rumored leak of the jersey from appearing online.
Student Body Right, who's been at the front of the rumored Bills jerseys for months, shared on social media a look at a gray James Cook jersey. The jersey looks to be a close concept of what the real ones will be, but they aren't a complete recreation.
"While close, the new jerseys are far more glossy with elements of shine and little bits of detail on them," he said.
These new jerseys will pay homage to the "Nickel City" nickname Buffalo has had.
The Bills began officially teasing them on Thursday with a spinning nickel and the caption, "Bills Mafia, stay tuned". It was then given the date of July 27, 2026, which has long been the expected reveal date.
In addition to the jerseys, which feature the phrase "Go Bills" in the collar, the team will done silver pants with the jersey. Then, there's the helmet.
The new alternate helmet is expected to be blue with the charging red stripe from the Bills logo as the prominent mark. Of course, everything remains rumor and speculation until the official announcement on Monday morning.
That said, no matter what it looks like, it's sure to be divisive among the fan base. Some will certainly find interest in the unique change. However, many have panned the look and would rather the team do an alternative jersey based on the Bills of the 1990s.
"They did a great job with these jerseys if they were trying to nail the TJ Maxx vibe," said one fan.
Said another, "As much as I like uniforms changing more than ever before, it just feels like a lot of teams are copying each other. This doesn’t feel that authentic."
