Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen won't win the MVP Award again this season, but he still put up stellar numbers.
Allen finished with 3,668 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 579 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns in 2025.
NFL analyst Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report gave Allen a B+ for his performance in 2025. Here's why.
"A different version of Josh Allen appeared this season," Sobleski wrote. "The Buffalo Bills no longer need the reigning NFL MVP to don a cape and act like a superhero on a weekly basis. Instead, the organization shifted its approach, while Allen continues to flash some of the rare traits that make him special. The Bills benefit greatly from featuring the NFL's leading rusher, James Cook, while also leaning on their top-10 defense.
"As a result, Allen threw for his fewest amount of yards and touchdowns since the 2019 campaign. His attempts as a runner stayed relatively the same as the last two years, though that rate remains a step back from his usage during the 2021 and '22 seasons. Allen isn't in the mix for MVP again. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though. The Bills are still in the postseason, and the quarterback may have saved a little for when the games really matter. Right now, the only thing that matters in Buffalo is a Super Bowl berth after falling short so many times since Allen has been the quarterback."
The Bills went 12-5 and are the sixth seed in the AFC playoffs. They face the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card round.
Buffalo averaged 28.3 points per game in the regular season, which was good for fourth in the NFL. With Allen leading the way, the Bills are Super Bowl contenders and this could be Allen's best shot at winning the AFC since Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes are not in the playoffs this year.
Allen is 7-6 in the playoffs. It will be fascinating to see how far the 2024 MVP takes the Bills this year.
