An NFL trade idea sending a 23-year-old Pro Bowler to the Buffalo Bills has emerged.
An NFL trade idea sending a 23-year-old Pro Bowler to the Buffalo Bills has been created.
Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports proposed the following trade idea between the Bills and Jaguars:
Bills get: Brian Thomas Jr.
Jaguars get: 2026 first-round pick (26th)
Thomas Jr. appeared in 14 games for the Jaguars last season. He caught 48 balls for 707 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
A LSU product, Thomas Jr. made the Pro Bowl in 2024 as a rookie. He put up 1,282 receiving yards on 87 receptions and caught 10 touchdowns.
"Yes, the Bills already got WR D.J. Moore from Chicago for a second-round pick," Vacchiano wrote. "But they need to do better for QB Josh Allen, so why not go all-in on their biggest need and turn it into a strength? The Jags say they won’t trade Thomas, even after a terrible season, but they don’t have a first-round pick, so if the Bills dangle their first-rounder, maybe Jacksonville will change its mind. With Allen, two top receivers and RB James Cook, the Bills' offense might be impossible to stop. And if they can finally end their Super Bowl drought, it would be well worth the price."
The Bills' offense would be very, very explosive with Thomas Jr. in the fold next to Allen, Cook and Moore. Buffalo lost to the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round last season. Perhaps a trade for Thomas Jr. is what the Bills need to get over the hump.
The 2024 MVP, Allen finished with 3,668 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 579 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns last season. The future Hall of Famer enters next season with 30,102 passing yards, 220 passing touchdowns, 4,721 rushing yards and 79 career rushing touchdowns, which are outstanding numbers, but he's never been to the Super Bowl.
New Bills coach Joe Brady wants that last part to change.
"I've said this 100 times, and you're gonna hear me another 100 times saying it. I want Josh Allen to get everything he deserves in this life, in this career. He puts so much into this game, and that all I want is for him to be holding what he deserves," Brady said.
The 2026 NFL Draft is almost here. Let's see if the Bills make another massive trade this offseason.
