According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Buffalo Bills are signing a 28-year-old defender.
The Bills are adding Dee Alford.
Alford appeared in 16 games for the Falcons last season. He finished with three interceptions, 55 solo tackles, six tackles for loss and three QB hits.
Alford has four interceptions in his career. The Bills will be his second NFL team.
Buffalo traded Taron Johnson to the Las Vegas Raiders. Alford essentially replaces Johnson.
The Bills lost to the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round of the 2026 NFL playoffs. Josh Allen is one of the best QBs in the league, but he still hasn't been to the Super Bowl.
Buffalo promoted offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach after parting ways with Sean McDermott. It will be fascinating to see if Brady and Allen can reach the promised land together.
McDermott went 98-50 in the regular season and 8-8 in the playoffs with Buffalo. He was hired by the franchise in 2017.
The Bills finished below .500 only once under McDermott. The 51-year-old will not coach during the 2026 season.
Allen finished with 3,668 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 579 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns in 2025. The one-time MVP had right foot surgery after the season ended. The surgery was done on a broken bone in his foot.
Allen is looking forward to working with Brady next season.
"As much success as we've had over the last eight to nine seasons, we still haven't been able to get the main job done," Allen said. "So again, what does that look like? Who's involved in those decisions of what it looks like? But I truly believe in the direction of this organization, starting from the top. And I think that, again, whatever Joe needs from me I'm going to do. And I think that it's the right decision for this organization."
