Bills snag Florida's Tommy Doman in round seven. He boasts elite hang time and a knack for pinning opponents deep, adding a weapon to their special teams.
The Buffalo Bills were rumored to be looking at taking one all offseason, and they finally made the selection many expected them to make. With the 239th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Bills drafted Florida punter Tommy Doman.
He was selected with one of the two picks acquired from the Chicago Bears in exchange for pick 213 in the sixth round.
Doman joins the Bills after averaging 44.04 yards per punt in 2025. He also managed to place 17 of his 50 punts last year inside the 20-yard line.

One aspect of his game that will excite Bills fans—as much as a punter can—is his ability to keep the ball in the air. He led all of the FBS in hang time last year at 4.5 seconds. That type of kicking will go a long way to limiting the big runback potential against some of the faster and shiftier returns.
With Florida, he also handled kickoff duties, which the Bills will definitely look at as Tyler Bass returns from injury this year.
He has had a few instances of off-target kicks, but it's not enough to worry about if he can come out in a pressure punt situation and make the right kick. That only seven of his 50 kicks last season were returned will stand out more than any possible concerns.
Doman joins the Bills and is expected to compete all spring and summer for the starting job. Mitch Wishnowsky is currently the starter, but is only on a one-year, $1.3 million contract. Should Doman win the job, releasing Wishnowsky would clear $1.1 million off Buffalo's salary cap.
