CBS is sending their number two broadcast team to Foxborough to call the action when the Buffalo Bills take on the New England Patriots.
On Tuesday, it was confirmed that Ian Eagle, JJ Watt, and Evan Washburn will on the call for the Week 15 contest. It's the second time this year the trio has been assigned to a Bills game, with the first being the Week 11 game between Buffalo and Tampa Bay.
If you are wondering why the top crew of Jim Nantz and Tony Romo---who've called three Bills games so far this year---aren't calling this game, that's because they'll be in Denver. The 4:25pm ET game on Sunday is between the Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos, and with both teams in contention for the number one seed in their respective conferences, it makes sense to send the number one team there.
But just because the Bills aren't getting CBS' top team, it doesn't mean the game is any less important.
The Bills are 9-4 and two games back of the 11-2 Patriots in the AFC East. While Buffalo still has a slight chance to claim the division, that all but goes out the window if they fail to win this weekend.
Buffalo, if you recall, lost in Week 5 at home to New England, marking their only home loss since the start of the 2024 season. What's more impressive is the fact that the Patriots haven't lost a game since. They're coming into Week 15 on a 10-game winning streak with a quarterback who's playing like an MVP in Drake Maye.
Of course, Buffalo has an actual MVP of their own in Josh Allen, and have the chance to, at the very least, solidify their positioning in the AFC playoff race with a win this weekend. They currently sit one game ahead of Houston and Indianapolis while being tied with the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Bills and Patriots are scheduled to kickoff at 1pm EST on Sunday on CBS. The current forecast calls for 30 degrees and a chance of snow.
