3 Stars Not Named Josh Allen from Bills' Sunday Night Football Win cover image

We all saw what happened on Sunday Night Football between the Buffalo Bills and the Baltimore Ravens.

It was a game for the ages, with the Bills seemingly being dead in the water, after being down 15 points with four minutes left to go in the game.

It’s no secret that Josh Allen and Matt Prater put this game over the edge for the Bills, but outside of the obvious suspects, there were several players who contributed to the historical comeback in Orchard Park.

Here are three stars from Sunday Night Football’s Bills win that aren’t named Josh Allen.

Ed Oliver

The glitz and the glamor goes to the quarterback, and the heroics go to the kicker.

But this game isn’t won without defensive tackle Ed Oliver’s performance.

After Buffalo brought this game to an eight point deficit with less than four minutes left in the game, it was on the Ravens to just run out the clock and slowly move the chains.

So, after the game that Derrick Henry had, it was a no-brainer to let one of the greatest running backs of our time run down the clock, right?

Wrong.

Oliver had different plans. With three minutes and 12 seconds left on the clock, the Ravens handed the ball to the man that got them to this position. But Oliver, who had a massive game already managed to poke the ball out of his hands for a fumble and gave the ball back to the Bills at the Ravens’ 30-yard line.

On top of his efforts at the end of the game, Oliver posted six total tackles and a sack.

Keon Coleman

Eleven targets and eight receptions for 112 yards and a touchdown. It seems like Allen found his alpha wide receiver.

Coleman is a superstar athlete, who not only played football in college, but also played for Michigan State’s basketball team.

We talked about Oliver’s heroics to keep the game alive, but how about Coleman’s?

Just prior to Henry’s fumble, the Bills were down 40-25 with less than four minutes remaining.

While in the red zone, Buffalo was at its final chance. Staring down the Ravens defense, which stifled the Bills all night, and it being fourth down with two yards to go.

Allen stepped out into the pocket and was unimpressed with what he saw.

Then as two Ravens hunted him down, Allen threw the ball just hoping for someone to get it. Eventually, it went off the hand of tight end Dawson Knox, and right into the hands of Coleman for the touchdown.

It wasn’t a perfect play by any means, but it was perfect for that occasion.

Khalil Shakir

Throughout his time in Buffalo, Khalil Shakir seems to always fly under the radar.

Even after signing a four year extension earlier this season, Shakir has always been someone that continues to get overlooked.

But in the end, Shakir’s play was extremely important to keep the Bills alive on Sunday night.

While he never found the endzone, he was targeted nine times and caught six passes for 64 yards.

Too many players on Buffalo took the spotlight of Sunday night’s game, and oftentimes a non-sexy statline like Shakir’s will go under the radar. But Allen doesn’t have the type of game he does with out #10 catching passes.
