The Bills aren't panicking over Dorian Williams' injury, but should they be concerned about their linebacker depth?
The Buffalo Bills don't appear to be overly concerned about Dorian Williams' latest injury, but that does not mean the situation should be ignored.
After missing voluntary OTAs, Williams was present for mandatory minicamp, but he was spotted on crutches after ending last season with a neck injury. There's been no indication that the issue is expected to be long-term, and the hope is that he'll be ready to go by training camp.
Still, his absence shines a spotlight on what could quietly become one of the Bills' biggest roster questions heading into the 2026 season.

The Bills feel good about their starters when they're healthy. Terrel Bernard remains one of the leaders of the defense, and the expectation is that Williams will continue to play a significant role once he returns. The problem is that neither player has had the easiest time staying on the field, and behind them, there are more questions than answers.
That could open the door for rookie Kaleb Elarms-Orr to see more opportunities this summer. While the Bills clearly believe in his potential, asking a rookie to step into a major role isn't without risk. Young linebackers often go through growing pains, especially in a defense that asks a lot of the position.
That's why the veteran free agent market could become something worth watching over the next few weeks.
Buffalo doesn't need to make a move today. The team can afford to see how Williams progresses and evaluate the rest of the linebacker room during training camp. But if there are any setbacks or if another injury pops up, adding an experienced depth piece could quickly become a priority.
If so, Buffalo doesn't need to make a splash here. They just need someone capable of stepping in and handling meaningful snaps if needed. A veteran like Shaq Thompson or Jerome Baker could make sense if the team decides it wants a little more insurance before the regular season begins.
For now, there's no reason to panic. But if Williams isn't ready for training camp, or if the Bills lose another linebacker this summer, a position that hasn't received much attention could suddenly become one of the team's biggest concerns.
