The Bills have reached the end of the 2025 regular season, and it's time to start looking ahead to the NFL playoffs

The Buffalo Bills aren't AFC East champions this year, but that doesn't mean the season is over. The 11-5 Bills have one more regular season game against the New York Jets this week before heading on the road for the first time since 2019 to start the playoffs.

In Episode 12 of the Bills Roundtable Podcast, Mike Straw and Anthony Moeglin look back on the 13-12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last weekend and talk about the offensive struggles and defensive turnaround.

Also, a sendoff to the current Highmark Stadium has it gets set to host what is likely its final NFL game between the Bills and New York Jets. And, with the playoff matchup possibilities still wide open, Mike and Anthony talk about Buffalo's path to Super Bowl 60 and if there's even a preferred pass in a chaotic AFC.

A Look at Bills vs. Jets

For (likely) the final time at the current stadium, the Buffalo Bills will host a football game. The opponent, the New York Jets. It's quite a fitting finale as the first regular season game at the stadium was against the Jets on September 30, 1973. That was a game the Bills won 9-7 and O.J. Simpson rushed for 123 yards on 24 carries.

Fifty-two years later, and the Bills and Jets square off with both teams going in different directions. Buffalo is preparing for its seventh playoff appearance in a row while the New York Jets wrap up their 15th straight season without making it.

Before getting there, however, there's a game to be played. Buffalo has a chance to move up as high as the fifth seed in the AFC with a win and losses by Houston and Los Angeles. The Jets, on the other hand, are 3-13 and currently hold the third pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Buffalo heads into the game with a +137-point differential since 2020 against the Jets, which is the second-highest differential in that span. They've also managed to stop New York from scoring an opening-drive touchdown in 24-straight games, the longest active streak in the league.

James Cook also has a chance to wrap up the NFL's rushing title. He enters the week 47 yards ahead of Indianapolis' Jonathan Taylor. It's unclear how long he'll play on Sunday, but, knowing what's at stake for him, it could be assumed he'll get, at least, a handful of carries.

For most Bills fans, this week is all about honoring the longtime stadium and making sure the team goes into the playoffs as healthy as possible. Anything else, including a win, is just an added bonus.

Bills and Jets kickoff Sunday at 4:25PM ET on CBS.
