The Broncos could catch a major break Sunday night with Rams star Puka Nacua's status uncertain because of a hip injury.

The Denver Broncos could catch a major break before facing one of the NFL's most dangerous receivers Sunday night.

Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Puka Nacua's status for the Week 3 matchup in Denver is uncertain because of a hip injury.

Rams coach Sean McVay told reporters Tuesday that Nacua is still "TBD" for the game after the injury kept him out of Monday night's 28-6 victory over the New York Giants.

Nacua did not practice Friday or Saturday and was listed as questionable before ultimately being ruled out against New York.

His availability could significantly affect a matchup that already presents a major challenge for the Broncos' defense.

Nacua led the NFL with 129 receptions last season while piling up 1,715 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. He opened this season with five catches for 74 yards in the Rams' Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Los Angeles showed Monday that it can still create plenty of problems without him.

Matthew Stafford threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns against the Giants, while Davante Adams caught eight passes for 195 yards and two scores.

That performance gave the Broncos a glimpse of the challenge awaiting them against the Rams, even if Nacua can't return.

Denver will have its own injury situation to monitor this week. Running back J.K. Dobbins left Sunday's 20-13 win over Jacksonville with a foot injury, putting his availability against Los Angeles in question.

The Broncos and Rams are both 1-1 heading into the Sunday night matchup at Empower Field at Mile High.

Nacua's status is now one of the biggest developments to watch as the two teams prepare for Week 3.

Even without him, Stafford and Adams showed Monday night that the Broncos' secondary will have plenty to handle.

Adding the NFL's reigning receptions leader to that equation would make the challenge considerably tougher.
