Courtland Sutton has become just the fifth player in Broncos history to reach 6,500 career receiving yards, joining four of the franchise's most accomplished pass catchers.

Courtland Sutton has joined some exclusive company in Denver Broncos history.

The veteran wide receiver has become just the fifth player in franchise history to reach 6,500 career receiving yards, joining Rod Smith, Demaryius Thomas, Shannon Sharpe and Lionel Taylor.

Zac Stevens of DNVR highlighted the milestone Wednesday morning, placing Sutton alongside four of Denver's most accomplished pass catchers.

According to The Football Database's franchise receiving records, Sutton has accumulated 6,525 yards since entering the NFL in 2018.

Smith remains Denver's all-time leader with 11,389 receiving yards, followed by Thomas with 9,055, Sharpe with 8,439 and Taylor with 6,872.

Sutton is now just 347 yards away from matching Taylor for fourth place on the franchise's all-time list.

The achievement is particularly notable considering Sutton has spent his entire NFL career with Denver, remaining a significant part of the offense through numerous changes at quarterback and head coach.

A second-round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, Sutton established himself as one of Denver's primary receiving threats early in his career.

He earned his first Pro Bowl selection following a breakout 2019 season, when he caught 72 passes for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns.

A serious knee injury limited Sutton to just one game in 2020, but he eventually returned to become a reliable target for the Broncos.

He enjoyed another productive stretch in 2024 and 2025, recording consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons.

Sutton finished 2024 with 81 receptions for 1,081 yards and eight touchdowns before adding 74 catches for 1,017 yards and seven scores in 2025.

His historical accomplishment comes during a challenging start to the 2026 season.

Through seven games, Sutton has recorded 16 receptions for 168 yards and one touchdown, with Denver's passing attack facing scrutiny.

Although Sutton's production has declined this season, his place among Denver's most accomplished receivers is now firmly established.

And with Taylor's career receiving total within reach, Sutton has another significant franchise milestone to pursue.
