The Denver Broncos received encouraging news on J.K. Dobbins after the running back left Sunday's win over Jacksonville with a hamstring injury.
The Denver Broncos appear to have avoided a significant injury to one of their top running backs.
J.K. Dobbins left Sunday's 20-13 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a hamstring injury and did not return.
But the initial news on Dobbins' condition is encouraging.
NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported Monday that Dobbins is "good" after suffering the injury, while James Palmer reported that Dobbins is dealing with a slight hamstring issue.
The encouraging reports come as Denver prepares for a Sunday night matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
Dobbins isn't the only Broncos running back dealing with a hamstring injury.
RJ Harvey missed Sunday's victory over Jacksonville with his own hamstring issue after being listed as questionable entering the game.
That would be welcome news for a Denver backfield that suddenly found itself shorthanded against Jacksonville.
Dobbins rushed 10 times for 36 yards before leaving the game. He leads the Broncos through two games with 18 carries for 72 yards.
With Harvey inactive and Dobbins sidelined, rookie Jonah Coleman helped Denver close out the victory.
Coleman finished with 58 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 13 touches as the Broncos scored the final 17 points of the game to rally from a 13-3 deficit.
Exactly how Denver divides those carries against Los Angeles could depend on how Dobbins and Harvey progress throughout the week.
But after Dobbins was unable to finish Sunday's game, the Broncos appear to have received an encouraging initial prognosis on their leading rusher.
