The Denver Broncos have several players who could have breakout seasons, and their teammates have thoughts.

The Denver Broncos are turning up on all kinds of lists full of breakout players, and many of them have some validity. But Sam Jane of the Denver Post took a different approach to this issue in a different way, by having several Broncos players themselves name their most likely breakout teammates.

Start with Eyioma Ewazurike. He’s trying to fill the void left by John Franklin-Myers when the versatile defensive lineman left to join the Tennessee Titans in free agency, and receiver Pat Bryant named him as his most likely to break out.

“I’ll say Eni, bro,” Bryant said. “Eni’s had an amazing camp. He’s a guy that just disrupts.Like coach was saying, man, it’s going to be hard to keep him off the field. Big guy. Moves very well. I’m excited to see what he does this year.”

But Byrant himself was named as a breakout player, and he had a pretty great camp, too. His selecter was safety Talanoa Hufanga, who started by noting that Bryant was “a role player” last year, but that’s not the case now.

“Watching his leap, you kind of could see it as the season went last year, but what he’s done through this camp, he’s really solidified himself and making a name for himself in this league,” Hufanga said.

Edge rusher Que Robinson was in the mix as well. The second year edge rusher just got a promotion given the legal situation of linebacker Jonathon Cooper, who is currently on the commissioner’s exempt list for the foreseeable future. Tight end Evan Engram has had to block Robingson, and he was Robinson’s advocate.

“The guy I’ve been super impressed with is Que Robinson, he’s been a force all camp,” Engram said. “He’s definitely growing as a player and he has a bright future ahead of him for sure.”

Finally, there’s quarterback Bo Nix. He takes a lot of heat from the outside, but his teammates love him, including Patrick Surtain II, who’s faced some pretty good quarterbacks in his day.

“[Nix is] “better than before, more sharp,” Surtain noted. “He’s ready to show the world what he’s about. Not that he already didn’t, but he’s ready to make a statement.”

There are plenty of choices, and it’s the Broncos themselves who are trying to make the biggest statement of all as they try to take the final step to the Super Bowl and become champions.
