Denver eyes a legendary 10-time Pro Bowl linebacker to bolster their defense and fortify their Super Bowl aspirations.

The Denver Broncos were relatively quiet in the NFL free agency period, although that feeling certainly changed after they landed Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle in a blockbuster trade.

Still, the Broncos have some holes to fill on their roster.

One of them is defensive tackle after John Franklin-Myers signed with the Tennessee Titans. Another is the tight end position, and it seems to be a common projection that Vanderbilt tight end Eli Stowers could be a draft target for Denver

And, another big one is the linebacker position, which took a hit after Dre Greenlaw left and returned to the San Francisco 49ers in free agency.

Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report named one free agent that could be a fit for the Broncos, and he named 10-time Pro Bowl linebacker Bobby Wagner.

Wagner is also a six-time All-Pro and won a Super Bowl as a member of the Seattle Seahawks and the infamous Legion of Boom defense.

Wagner has spent most of his career with the Seahawks, but he played the 2022 season with the Los Angeles Rams and then the past two seasons with the Washington Commanders, starting every game each of those years.

"The last time he failed to record 130 tackles in a season was also a decade ago, and he wasn't terrible in coverage in two years in Washington, posting a passer rating against under 90 both years," Davenport wrote.

Moreover, the price would most likely be low for a 35-year-old linebacker near the end of his career.

He made the Pro Bowl in 2024, and he had a pair of interceptions while still showing worth during this past season for the Commanders.

Right now, the Broncos' Super Bowl window is open wide, and adding an experienced linebacker who has played in plenty of playoff games makes a lot of sense for both sides of the equation.

Both Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad returned to Denver this offseason despite hitting free agency, but the loss of Greenlaw is a meaningful one.

Addressing this position in the draft is also an easy choice, but expecting a rookie to come in and make a difference right away for a team with Super Bowl hopes might be asking a little much.

The NFL Draft is a few weeks away, so it will be telling if Denver doesn't bring in another linebacker before it begins.
