The Denver Broncos scraped out an ugly 10-7 Thursday Night Football win against the Las Vegas Raiders in Denver.

Boos rained down from the crowd as the Broncos defeated a two-win team by just three points. Las Vegas opened the scoring at the three-minute mark with a rushing touchdown from rookie sensation running back Ashton Jeanty but give the Denver defense credit for only allowing seven points.

The offense was and has become a real concern for Head Coach Sean Payton.

“We’ve got to clean up some of the penalties. We’ve got to clean up the execution and that is an ongoing thing that probably never ends,” coach Sean Payton said after the Broncos squeaked past the reeling Las Vegas Raiders 10-7 on Thursday night, transcribed by AP.

“You search for that Shangri-La. Right now, you know, we’re sitting at eight wins. I think we’re the only team sitting there.”

The Broncos took so many penalties last night (11) that they had more penalties than first downs (10). It also doesn’t help when seven of your 13 offensive possessions end in three-and-outs.

Quarterback Bo Nix had another rough showing after throwing for nearly 250 yards and four touchdowns two weeks ago against the Dallas Cowboys. He completed 16 of 28 passes for 150 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions while recording minus-two yards on five carries.

Nix took accountability for his performance and acknowledged the booing from the crowd.

“Yeah, we've got to do better,” Nix said after the game. “At some point 10 points ain't going to be enough. We've got to score more. ... We've got to find some juice somewhere.

“Nix didn't pull out his usual fourth-quarter heroics and drew the wrath of the sellout crowd: ‘I've been booed before and I'll be booed again.’”

Usually, Nix will struggle his way through the first three quarters and turn it up in the fourth when the team needs it most. This week, he was bad throughout the entirety of this one besides his touchdown pass to Troy Franklin near the end of the second quarter.

It was another display of “happy feet” for Nix where he looks uncomfortable in the pocket, dances around and misses his pass attempt.

At 8-2, the Broncos have coasted to the league’s best record. However, if Denver wants to continue winning, the offense needs to figure it out. Denver will host the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11.
