The Denver Broncos have had a whirlwind of a week thus far, and it's all leading up to their second preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.

This week's episode of the Denver Broncos podcast opens with a discussion on Tuesday's training camp fight.

Randy explains how the scuffle came about, which began when quarterback Bo Nix was sacked despite wearing a red jersey, which indicates that the QB should not be touched.

That led to some frustration out of Nix, and a few plays later, the QB dragged linebacker Nik Bonitto out of a pileup on the line of scrimmage

Bonitto got in Nix's face but was pulled out of the altercation by the Broncos' defense.

Denver's QB had a chance to speak on the situation afterwards and seemed incredibly optimistic about the fight.

"I love it," Nix told media after practice. "It's getting me ready for the games coming up. It's a physical practice played by physical people, so it gets intense and we're really enjoying it. Sometimes in the dog days of summer, practice gets long, and the intensity gets high."

Our hosts admit that they loved to see Nix's comments post-fight, as well as the energy from everyone on the field. The Broncos seem to be ready to go for the season, and the emotions that surfaced Monday proved that to be true.

Moving on from the scuffle, Mike mentions some big names that have returned to the football field after an injury sidelined them for some time.

Wide receivers Jaylen Waddle and Marvin Mims Jr., running back J.K. Dobbins, centers Luke Wattenberg and Alex Forsyth, linebacker Jordan Turner and rookie outside linebacker Dasan McCullough.

On the downside, linebacker Levelle Bailey sustained a broken leg in the preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons. Head coach Sean Payton recently noted that it was "too early" to tell if he'd return this season.

Then, our trio moves on to discuss that first preseason game. There was much to love regarding the Broncos' win over Atlanta. Mike starts off with the great play from QB Jarrett Stidham, who's fighting for the No. 2 spot on the depth chart against Sam Ehlinger.

This was also Denver's first game with offensive coordinator Davis Webb calling plays, which clearly ended up working out.

Eric breaks down the plays, stat lines and storylines that came from this first game and explains what went right for Denver, then discusses what went wrong -- mainly in the second half where the Broncos struggled offensively.

Overall, our trio spoke very highly on Denver after what was a great first-look at the 2026-27 squad. Though it was just a preseason game, the team looked great all-around and it was a great start to what could be a successful season for the Broncos.

Listen to the full podcast for the entire breakdown of the game, as well as a look into the second preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.
