The Denver Broncos promoted Davis Webb to be the offensive coordinator, and he is expected to make some noise this upcoming season.

The Denver Broncos moved on from offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi after the postseason run came to an end.

Head coach Sean Payton then made the quick decision to promote quarterbacks coach Davis Webb, who himself was a former signal-caller in the NFL, to be the new OC at the age of 31.

Webb was a popular name in this coaching cycle, drawing interest and earning interviews with the Las Vegas Raiders, Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills, but he ended up staying in Denver with a promotion.

Next cycle, it wouldn't be surprising to see Webb as the top candidate on the board, and although he is young, he is moving up the ranks quickly and should be a buzzy name.

Greg Auman of Fox Sports named some coordinators who are set to make an impact this upcoming season, and Webb landed at No. 7 on the list.

"Sean Payton liked Davis Webb, 31, enough to fire offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi and elevate him after just three seasons as an NFL assistant," Auman wrote.

"No quarterback threw more passes last year than Bo Nix, but only Cam Ward threw for fewer yards per attempt out of the league's top 12 passers," Auman added.

Webb was a third-round draft pick in 2017, and he spent time with the New York Giants, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills before calling it a career as far as a player.

Payton then hired Webb as the QBs coach in 2023, and he earned the title Offensive pass game coordinator as well this past season, so it has been a fast move up the ranks.

The Denver offense in 2025 was a mixed bag, and time and time again, the team relied on its standout defense to win games.

However, Payton is hoping that moving Webb to the OC will change that, and the Broncos head coach even will allow Webb to be the play-caller in a bit of a surprising move.

The Broncos also acquired Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle in a massive blockbuster trade, so the WR group of Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin and Waddle is a tough group for opposing teams to defend.

If Webb can live up to the hype even a little bit, two things will happen. First, the Broncos could finally get back to the Super Bowl.

Secondly, Webb could be the top name once Black Monday comes in the NFL next season, and it might be a matter of time before he lands a head-coaching job.
