The Denver Broncos were widely regarded as perhaps the best team in the AFC entering the 2026 season.

So, it was quite surprising to see Denver lose to the Kansas City Chiefs, 31-10, in Week 1. However, the Broncos bounced back in Week 2, although it took a late comeback against the Jacksonville Jaguars in another surprisingly disappointing performance from Bo Nix and the new-look offense.

In Week 3, the Broncos defeated the Los Angeles Rams, 30-26, and Nix delivered on the big stage on Sunday Night Football.

Of course, Talanoa Hufanga did some work defensively as he had a pair of interceptions off of reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford.

Meanwhile, Nix did just enough, throwing for 186 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception and adding another score on the ground.

After the win, former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck praised Nix's effort despite another subpar showing from the offense.

"He seems unfazed with the idea that the offense is struggling. That is a great trait to have as a quarterback," Hasselbeck said while speaking with Scott Van Pelt on Sunday night.

Hasselbeck added that Nix is "streaky."

He said he doesn't appear to be bothered, although Nix might have a difficult time adjusting to Davis Webb as the new playcaller instead of head coach Sean Payton.

In Week 3, the Broncos were scoreless in the first half, and the Rams had a 16-0 lead going into the third quarter.

Fans even showered Denver with boos, but the Broncos scored 30 points in the second half to walk away with the victory.

Nix hit Pat Bryant with a 5-yard touchdown in the third, then connected with Nate Adkins on another score in the third, although there was a controversial pass interference call that went Denver's way late in the game, which ultimately led to the game-winning touchdown run by Nix.

All in all, it was another subpar showing by the offense, but Hasselbeck spoke highly about Nix not letting it bother him, and instead doing what he can to keep them in the game time and time again.

In total, the Rams had 482 total yards, and the Broncos had 257 total yards, so there might be questions to ask about whether or not Webb should continue to call the plays in Denver.

Nonetheless, right now, Denver is 2-1, and that is with the offense playing far below what many expected them to this season.

In Week 4, the Broncos face the San Francisco 49ers on the road, and it might be only a matter of time before Payton calls plays on offense again.
