A proposed trade could send Saints RB Alvin Kamara to the Denver Broncos, which would reunite him with head coach Sean Payton.

The Denver Broncos NFL Draft projections look much different after they traded away a first and third-rounder in exchange for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

The Broncos have positions to address, although not many, but one big one is adding some depth at the running back position.

J.K. Dobbins is back, and 2025 rookie RB RJ Harvey played well despite being a Day 3 pick. Still, adding another RB would be beneficial for Denver as a whole, especially with Dobbins suffering from injuries more often than not as of late.

Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports had one trade proposal for every AFC team ahead of the NFL Draft, and the one for the Broncos is very interesting: New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara.

That would reunite head coach Sean Payton and Kamara together, and it makes even more sense since New Orleans gave former Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne a large deal in free agency.

The proposal would be the Broncos sending a 2026 seventh-round pick (246th) and a 2027 seventh-round pick for Kamara, which seems like a fairly low price given the way Kamara has performed.

"Kamara is 31, coming off the worst season of his career, and coming back from knee and ankle injuries. He also doesn’t want to leave New Orleans. But a reunion with Sean Payton and a chance to chase another championship in what could be his final NFL season might be enough to convince him to change his mind," Vacchiano wrote.

Kamara reportedly considered retirement, but bringing him back with Payton might be a way for the talented RB to find joy once again.

He has dealt with injuries as of late, so it would be another injury-prone RB for Denver, but if he can turn things around, it could be a potential steal.

The 2025 season was the only year in which Kamara played in fewer than 13 games. And, he brings value as a pass-catcher, which could prove as a valuable safety net for Bo Nix and the offense with new offensive coordinator Davis Webb calling the plays.

The low price point is due to his recent injuries and the thought of this possibly being his final NFL season, but Kamara would probably be happy to chase a Super Bowl title and ride out on a good note.

It remains to be seen what the Saints want to do with kamara, especially with Etienne in town and a lot of younger pieces, so there is a scenario where this makes sense for both teams.
