Roundtable's Marc Cherabie discusses the Denver Broncos' success in the 2025-26 season thus far, and gives insight into how the club can compete for a Super Bowl berth.

The Denver Broncos have officially secured an American Football League West Championship for the first time in a decade.

Roundtable's Broncos podcast host Marc Cherabie opens up this week's podcast with some insight into how we got to where we are, starting with Walter Penner's ownership group and their dedication to the team and community, all the way from selecting Sean Payton as head coach to investing in a new stadium that will open in 2031.

Payton is Marc's No. 2 reason that Denver earned this year's AFC West title, rounding out the roster from top to bottom and making the difficult, but necessary, decisions. Drafting quarterback Bo Nix, making extensions earlier on this season and last to solidify a core, and of course, being at the helm week-in and week-out.

Third on Marc's list is Nix, who has embraced the leadership role at QB, put the team on his back, and allowed the coaching staff to help him grow as a player. Payton and Nix's relationship has evolved to a point where they both have complete trust in each other, which is necessary for success/

Next up, Vance Joseph is putting his previous tenure behind him and allowing the team to move him to the defensive coordinator, putting his pride aside and helping the team -- now becoming a highly sought-after candidate for a head coaching role elsewhere in the National Football League.

Looking into the Week 18 game against the Los Angeles Chargers, despite quarterback Justin Herbert already being ruled out, Marc acknowledges that the Broncos still need to treat this matchup like a playoff game. Taking their foot off the gas would allow for a potential loss, and essentially two weeks off, including the bye -- setting up the club for failure in the Divisional Round.

Payton spoke Monday about the team's lack of turnovers as of late, and how the head coach isn't worried about their inability to force turnovers at a high rate. Marc, on the other hand, wants to see Denver pick up the pace and notes that forcing turnovers in the playoffs is necessary. However, trying too hard on defense, specifically for a turnover, could be a mistake.

Despite securing the AFC West crown, the job is not finished and Broncos Country will be rooting for the club every step of the way.
