J.K. Dobbins and the Denver Broncos are gearing up for a huge AFC West showdown in Week 3 when they travel to Los Angeles to take on the undefeated Chargers.
Dobbins in his first season in Denver, after spending last season as a member for the Chargers.
With the opportunity to go up against his former team, Dobbins is looking to get to 100 yards in the game.
"Hopefully, I'll touch 100 this week," Dobbins told reporters. "However that may be. However many touches that may be. I'm going to try to touch 100 this week, for sure. It will only be right. I'm back to where I used to play."
While he is ready to up against his former teammates, there is some gratitude for the Chargers after he had his best season of his career.
Last year, he rushed for a career-high 905 yards, while also tying his previous high of nine touchdowns. Dobbins has had to deal with many injuries throughout his career, but the 13 games he played in last season was the most he has played since his rookie year in Baltimore.
Any time a player can go up against a former team, there is always going to be some added excitement.
Even though it is only Week 3, this is a huge game for both teams. The Chargers are not only undefeated on the season, but they are 2-0 in the AFC West. If they were able to win on Sunday, they would already have a win against every team in their division.
For the Broncos, the team is looking to bounce back from a crushing loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2. The Broncos were up five entering the fourth, but mistakes really cost the team.
Leading by two late, the Broncos had the ball in field goal range with a chance to make it to where the Colts had to score a touchdown to win. However, a delay of game and facemask penalty put them in a tough spot, and Will Lutz miss a 42-yard field goal.
Then the Colts missed a game-winning field goal, but the Broncos were once again called for a penalty that moved the ball up 15 yards, and Spencer Shrader made the second attempt to win the game.
While Dobbins is looking to get 100 yards against his old team, he would much rather get a big win against his former team.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET, and the game will be on CBS.
