The Denver Broncos' quarterback Bo Nix is rehabbing a fractured ankle, and head coach Sean Payton may have made his recovery even more frustrating.

Last week, the Denver Broncos received a positive update on quarterback Bo Nix, but this week things may have changed for the worse.

Following a routine procedure to "clean up" Nix's ankle, which went well, coach Sean Payton made a comment that had fans more than worried.

According to Payton, Nix played through the playoffs with a "busted up ankle," and he followed it up by saying that it was a "pre-existing, predisposed condition."

To make matters worse, team doctors allegedly believed that the break was "inevitable," and Payton joked that if he knew about the condition, there may have been second thoughts about drafting Nix.

Of course, Payton was only poking fun at the situation, but as Mike notes, fans had every right to be concerned about the injury and what it might mean down the road.

Randy shares his thoughts on Peyton's comments, which may align with most fans, hoping that the coach will stop talking about Nix's health situation and worries that it will cause a rift between the two.

With two years remaining on Nix's rookie deal, the fear is that the 26-year-old may want out of Denver, with the overarching possibility of this ankle injury becoming a larger problem for the QB as his career progresses.

Eric offers another point of view, noting that Nix met with doctors last week and received good news -- meaning this entire injury could be overblown.

Let us know in the comments what side of the fence you're on, and if you think Nix may have another setback in his recovery process, or if he'll be given a green light for Week One of the 2027 NFL season.

On that note, our trio discusses a rumor floating around the league that Pittsburgh Steelers veteran QB Aaron Rodgers might find his way to Denver this offseason, taking the first snap of the year for the Broncos and potentially becoming a mentor for Nix.

Mike, Eric and Randy debate if the rumor has any legs or not, and whether they'd like to see 42-year-old suit up for the Broncos next season, even if it is just while Nix works on getting back to 100%.
