The Cleveland Browns will be facing off against the Baltimore Ravens this week.
The Cleveland Browns have a big opportunity in front of them this weekend, with the team hosting the rival Baltimore Ravens.
Cleveland has gotten off to a strong start this season, sitting with a record of 3-2 on the year coming into the game. The Browns have been a surprise around the league, but their play has them thinking about a possible playoff berth.
Baltimore comes into the game with a record of 4-1, with them playing very well under new head coach Jesse Minter. But the Browns have their own solid first-year head coach in Todd Monken, and it'll be a good matchup between the two.
Here are some of the bigger X-Factors for the Browns to take down the Ravens this week at home:
1. Don't Turn the Ball Over
Playing teams like the Ravens, the Browns have to avoid making self-imposed mistakes like turning the ball over. If the Browns can make sure to not beat themselves, it would give them a much stronger chance to come away with the win this week.
Baltimore is a disciplined team, even without Lamar Jackson under center, and this group isn't going to just give up the game. The entire Browns offense is going to have to make sure to hold onto the ball, especially against a very opportunistic Ravens defense this season.
2. Get the Running Game Going
While the passing game has worked for the Browns this season, the running game remains a real work in progress for this team. Cleveland has tried to make something worked, but so far, the Browns haven't been able to generate much on the ground.
Running back Quinshon Judkins is listed as questionable for this team, but he hasn't done much this year, rushing for just 221 yards and one score. Going up against a squad like Baltimore, the Browns need to establish a ground game, even to just drain clock during the matchup.
3. Limit Ravens Rushing Attack
No matter who is under center for the Ravens, this team thrives on running the ball and they do this very well. Running back Derrick Henry is a force to deal with, and he can take over a game at any time.
So far this season, Henry has rushed for 447 yards and seven touchdowns, and he is someone that the Browns defense will need to keep an eye on. It won't be easy to slow this attack down, but if Cleveland can at least limit it in the best way they can, it could offer the team a chance to grab the victory.
