Bleacher Report revealed Deshaun Watson's Week 2 QB grade.
The Cleveland Browns beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2 and QB Deshaun Watson played pretty well.
How well? Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski gave Watson a "B."
The Browns beat the Buccaneers by a final score of 23-19.
"Deshaun Watson's standing as the Cleveland Browns' QB1 was teetering on the edge of oblivion," Sobleski wrote. "A poor performance Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers likely would have been Watson's last chance with the team. He responded by completing 80 percent of his passes and helping lead Cleveland to a victory.
"Watson isn't all the way back to his previous three-time Pro Bowl level and he may never be. The Browns can't expect him to be an elite passer after four years of basically nothing. Although, Cleveland should demand adequate play to make the team competitive. He provided exactly that in Tampa.
"The next test comes when Watson and the Browns play their first home game. Watson must string together multiple solid performances in order for the rumors of him being replaced by Shedeur Sanders are finally quieted. For now, he can relish a victory after already being counted out by many."
Watson went 24/30 for 238 yards and two touchdowns in Week 2. Watson's second TD pass was to Blake Whiteheart with under four minutes left in regulation. It wound up being the game-winning play.
Watson has 443 passing yards and three passing touchdowns through two games. He has one interception and is completing 76.9% of his passes. The three-time Pro Bowler missed the entire 2025 season recovering from the Achilles tendon tear he suffered in 2024.
"Every week I'm getting more confident and more comfortable with myself," Watson said. "Like I told the team, I feel good. I'm healthy. I trust the work that I've put in the last two years and [if] you got to put the ball in my hands, I'm ready for it. So whatever we got to do to make the team win and keep the guys moving, I'm ready for it."
The Browns host the Carolina Panthers in Week 3 in the team's home opener. Will Watson be booed or cheered by the home fans?
No one knows.
“I'm just happy we got the win,” Watson said. “I'm right where I'm supposed to be. I'll leave the journey in God's hands and let the outcome be the outcome.”
