Cleveland Browns use extra first-round pick to select Texas A&M WR KC Concepcion, filling a major void on the offensive side of the ball.
Whoever is starting at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns in 2026, just got a new weapon.
After months of speculation over what the Browns would do with their two first-round picks, executive vice president of football operations Andrew Berry ultimately opted for addressing each of his team's biggest needs on offensive.
First came the selection of Utah tackle Spencer Fano at ninth overall, following a trade down with the Kansas City Chiefs. Then, Berry used the No. 24 overall pick to draft Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion.
The 21-year-old was the fourth wide receiver to be selected in the first round on Thursday night. He comes to Cleveland after falling just short of a 1,000-yard season for the Aggies in 2025. Concepcion hauled in 61 passes for 919 yards and nine touchdowns in total, flashing some unique versatility as a wideout who can line up anywhere on the field.
He played outside over 60% of the time last season, and a little over 30% in the slot. Concepcion earned First-Team AP All-American (All-Purpose) and First-team All-SEC WR and All-Purpose honors. He also Won the Paul Hornung Award for being the nation's most versatile player.
Prior to his one season in College Station, Concepcion spent two seasons at NC State, where he played in 13 games as a freshman, catching 71 passes for 839 yards and 10 touchdowns. In his sophomore campaign, he caught just 53 passes for 460 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games.
Concepcion immediately projects to be one of the top weapons in Todd Monken's offense, joining a group that includes veteran Jerry Jeudy, 2023 third-round pick Cedric Tillman and speedster Isaiah Bond, who joined the team as an undrafted rookie last season.
Wide receiver was one of the biggest needs Cleveland had entering draft weekend. Drafting Fano and Concepcion checks the two biggest boxes Cleveland had entering Thursday.
Beyond the first round, the Browns still hold nine additional picks across the entire weekend. That haul of selections includes pick 39 in the second round, pick 70 and 74 in the third round, pick 107 in the fourth round, three fifth round selections at 146, 148 and 149, pick 206 in the sixth round and pick 248 in the seventh round.
The deal with Kansas City helped Berry add picks 74 and 148 to his stockpile, which may pave the way for addition moves up and down the board.
