The Cleveland Browns organization finally got some good news on Tuesday.
LB Devin Bush was found not guilty of assault and harassment charges stemming from an incident with his girlfriend in May.
Bush was arrested and charged in the offseason after police responded to a report of an alleged assault at a home in a Pittsburgh suburb. The woman, who identified herself as Bush's girlfriend, stated Bush assaulted her and took her car keys.
Police discovered cuts on the inside of Bush's girlfriend's wrist and outside her right foot, as well as smashed pieces of a cellphone. Bush admitted to smashing the cellphone, but he denied getting physical with his girlfriend.
Bush and his girlfriend got into an argument that resulted in Bush allegedly becoming very confrontational. As the girlfriend began to record the argument on her cellphone, Bush chased her around the house in an attempt to get the cellphone.
The girlfriend said she was pinned against a massage table in an office and Bush put his full body weight on top of her before taking the cellphone and smashing it. The girlfriend left with her daughter for a neighbor's home.
Allegheny County (Pennsylvania) Common Pleas Judge Bruce Beemer said prosecutors failed to prove Bush had the intent to harm or injure his girlfriend.
Bush has appeared in all 14 games for the Browns this season. He has 2.0 sacks, 93 combined tackles, 47 solo tackles, six tackles for loss, four QB hits and two interceptions.
The Browns are 3-12. They have one of the worst records in the NFL.
