Cleveland Browns rookie Dillon Gabriel is one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL, according to an analyst.

One analyst believes Cleveland Browns rookie Dillon Gabriel is the third-worst QB in the NFL.

Nick Shook of NFL.com ranked Gabriel 30th in the NFL in starting quarterbacks.

"Dillon Gabriel's ceiling seems to be in the Gardner Minshew range," Shook wrote. "He gets the ball out on time but isn't elevating the offense while playing behind an offensive line that continues to struggle with pass protection."

Gabriel has thrown for 430 yards and three touchdowns on the season. The Browns are 0-2 with him under center and 1-5 overall.

Gabriel went 29/52 through the air against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6. He had zero interceptions and zero touchdowns.

The 24-year-old Gabriel is completing only 57.3% of his passes. That number needs to improve moving forward.

The Browns will miss the playoffs again this season. Gabriel's development is the most important thing to track moving forward. Cleveland needs to see if Gabriel can be its franchise QB.

If Gabriel continues to struggle, the Browns may give fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders a chance. Sanders, of course, is the son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.

Cleveland faces the Miami Dolphins in Week 7. Both team are 1-5.

"Just, I think you continue to learn from each start," Gabriel said this week. "Each time going in there there’s a lot of details that you want to fine tune and continue to get better at and get more comfortable with that. But, you know, margin for error is small as well. So, I think I knew that but continue to learn that and try to evolve to be better for this team."

Gabriel makes his first start at home this week. The lefty is expected to play in front of Browns fans.

"I am. I’m excited," Gabriel said. "You know, it’ll be a lot of fun to start at home and excited to be back here. It’ll be fun."
