Former Browns center Ethan Pocic found a new home after Cleveland underwent o-line overhaul this offseason.
Cleveland Browns General Manager Andrew Berry pulled off a critical overhaul of the team's offensive line this offseason. It was a decision that meant saying goodbye to several key figures up front over the last several years.
That included long-time leader Joel Bitonio at left guard, who officially retired last month. Two-time All-Pro Wyatt Teller at right guard, who signed with the Houston Texans earlier this offseason. And once promising center Ethan Pocic.
On Friday, Pocic finally found a new home of his own, signing with one of Cleveland's biggest rivals. Multiple reports indicate the 30-year-old inked a one-year deal worth $4.5 million with the Baltimore Ravens, paving the way for the Browns to see their former center twice this season.
Pocic's heads to Baltimore after his 2025 campaign was cut short due to a ruptured Achilles he suffered in a Week 14 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Reports indicate that he's now fully recovered from the ailment and should be able to compete for the Ravens' starting center job in training camp.
He'll have some mighty large shoes to fill in Baltimore, after three-time Pro Bowler Tyler Linderbaum left the franchise to join the Las Vegas Raiders this spring.
Over the course of his nine-year career, Pocic has appeared in 114 games, making 97 starts during stints with the Seattle Seahawks and Browns. It was Seattle who drafted Pocic out of LSU in the second round of the 2017 draft. He spent the first five years of his career there before signing with Cleveland as a free agent during the 2022 offseason.
Prior to the injury, Pocic graded out with a 62.2 pass blocking grade and a 63.2 run blocking grade according to PFF. From 2022-2023 Pocic finished top 12 in consecutive seasons for his pass blocking according to PFF. He was also top 20 in each of those seasons in run blocking.
While the veteran found a new home in the division, his former team, Cleveland, hasn't yet finalized who will replace Pocic at center. Former Packers G/C Elgton Jenkins appears to be the front-runner for the job, but new head coach Todd Monken has made it known he'd like to play Jenkins at guard if another viable option emerges to man the middle of the team's o-line.
